I tend not to write very long posts because I've never been very eloquent with the written word (being formally trained as an accountant - I didn't do much writing in college). That said, I just feel the need to let some of my thoughts out. I've stopped watching the television and listening to the radio as of about noon yesterday. I simply couldn't take it anymore. I can't stop thinking about our men (and woman) who have been captured and tortured. I keep thinking that the ones who were killed are probably the lucky ones. I don't have the stomach for war to tell you the truth, but nor can I live comfortably with the idea that there are Saddams out there who systematically torture and kill their own citizens (it goes without saying that they have no qualms about torturing and killing POWs). So of course I am for the war and getting Saddam out of there. But I still don't have the stomach for it. I'm thinking about the woman who was captured. Many will think I'm old fashioned but I do not think that women belong in any type of situation where they can be captured or killed. I'm just heartbroken over this. How can the feminists be for putting women in combat roles? Why would a woman want to be there? It's bad enough that our men have to go to war, but I think they're better equipped for it - both physically and mentally. I pray every night for our troops and for the Iraqi people. I pray that we will meet our objectives quickly and that the Iraqi people and the world for that matter will soon be rid of this murderer called Saddam. I'm tired.

Holy Cow! We now have close to 4 feet of snow and it's not stopping anytime soon! This is amazing! I have my office in the basement and usually during the day I don't have to turn on any lights because I have a window. Well, the window well is totally filled with snow and it's dark down here in the middle of the day. Weird!

Ok, I heard a really great joke tonight. I've never tried to write out a joke before but it had me laughing pretty good, so I'm gonna repeat it here.

The Pope, Billy Graham and Oral Roberts all died at the same time. Well, they all went to heaven and met Saint Peter up there. Unfortunately, Peter told them that their rooms weren't ready yet but he could make other arrangements for them for the night. So Peter picks up the phone and says, "Satan? Yea, I've got three new guys up here but their rooms aren't ready yet. Do you think you could put them up for the night? OK, thanks." Peter hangs up the phone and tells the three men they'll have to go down to Hell for the night and he'll have their rooms ready in the morning. So the Pope, Billy Graham and Oral Roberts shrug their shoulders and head on down. Well, about three hours later, Peter gets a call from Satan saying, "Peter I don't think this is gonna work out. The Pope is forgiving everyone, Billy Graham is saving everyone and Oral Roberts has raised enough money to air condition the joint!"

Hee Hee!

I'm very excited because I think (fingers crossed) that a buddy of mine is going to team up with me on Right You Are! She's got a wonderful dry wit and is very strong in her opinions and I hope, hope, hope that she says Yes she'll join me! (I'm not mentioning any names cuz I don't want to put her on the spot LOL!)

Hmmm, what else? Don't know! I'm not weighing in cuz I would just be sad, sad, sad!

I know I've been really really bad about ignoring all of my blog pals! If this is you, please accept my apology. I've just been totally stressed over work lately and have found myself unable to follow up with my commitments online. Tomorrow I promise will be better!

I wanted to share this little exchange between Christopher (my almost 5-y/o) and myself. Chris came up to me yesterday and said "Mom, what do 'them apples' taste like?" Well, he totally had me stumped until I heard him later saying to his little sister Jennie (3 1/2 y/o), "How do you like them apples Jen?" LMAO! I'd love to know where he heard that one!

Hope everyone is having a FABULOUS Tuesday!

Wow! A classic example of why entertainers should just stick to the business of entertaining (although I must admit that what Sheryl Crow has to say about the war is Hugely entertaining LOL) --
'I think war is based in greed and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow. I think war is never the answer to solving any problems. The best way to solve problems is to not have enemies' - Sheryl Crow

Here's my This or That Tuesday answers.

1. Black or white? Pink
2. Plaid or stripes? Solids
3. Paperback or hardcover books? Paperbacks
4. Color or B&W printer? Color
5. Golden oldies or the newest tunes? Oldies
6. Ice cream: in a cone or a dish? Sugar Cone
7. Bath or shower? Shower
8. Are you outgoing or shy? Depends on who I'm around. With my family and friends I'm really outgoing and obnoxious. In any new situation with people I don't know I'm frightfully shy.
9. Answer the phone when it rings, or screen calls? Screen calls!
10. VCR or TiVO? What in the heck is TiVO?

I'm being sort of ornery today, can you tell?
